World’s Biggest Airport in Beijing, a Certainty

At the moment, London Heathrow Airport is the largest airport in the world, but, it was time for another hub to take London’s Airport place. This is due to the discussions about building the biggest airport in the world, which will be situated in Beijing. This means that the opening of Beijing Daxing in 2015, as it will be called, will be the third airport in Beijing. The biggest airport in the world will occupy a very large surface, of 54 square km. Beijing Daxing is expected to serve between 120 and 200 million passengers a year, which means three times more than the passengers travelling through the present greatest hub in the world. Although it was not discussed in media already, the new biggest airport in the world will open its gates in a neighbourhood area from Beijing. And this is not everything – local authorities are planning to build a new expressway and a high-speed rail link in order to take the passengers from and to Beijing Airport. The biggest airport in the world which is due to open in 2015 near Beijing adds to the huge network of airports, which will increase from 175 to 230 in the following years.
