Greatest Natural Disasters in the World

Nature has many times proved that it holds our lives in its hands. All great natural disasters stand as prove for the previous statement. Thousands of human lives were lost, together with their goods. What has caused this hell on Earth? What are the most significant disasters humankind has recorded by now? Earthquakes, floods, tsunamis all sound familiar when we are talking about this phenomena in theory. But there have been very many people who were directly affected by the unfortunate consequences of this “terror”. Some survived, others not. But the pain and feeling of loneliness for those who were left without anything but theirselves, this became something certain. Below there is a list of the greates natural human disasters in the last centuries.
1. The Antioch Earthquake in Antakya, Turkey recorded about 260,000 deaths.

2. Bhola Cyclone, that took place in Bangladesh in 1970 struck West Bengal and killed around 500,000 people, that is arounf 45% of the island population.

3. Another significant cyclone was India Cyclone, which killed 300,000 people in 1839.

4. Aleppo Earthquake, also called “the fourth worst Earthquake of all time” was indeed a disastruous phenomena, which killed 230,000 people and completely destroyed the town of Aleppo. However, the worst hit area was Harim, where Crusaders had built a large citadel.
