The Greatest Technology Show in Europe, IFA Berlin 2011

Yesterday was the last day of the event called World’s Leading Business Event for Consumer Electronics and Home Appliances, or shortly IFA 2011, held in Berlin, Germany between September 2-7. The show was aimed to allow the greatest electronics manufacturers in the world present their latest products. Love Parade 2011?

Love Parade tragedy sets the organisation of Love Parade 2011 into shadow. Will Love Parade take place in 2011 and if so, when is it? Many electronic music fans are waiting anxiously an official reply to these questions. Even if the tragedy of Love Parade 2010 is still fresh in our minds, Berlin prepares another great surprise for its visitors – an alternative to Love Parade – “Summer Rave” on June, 4th, where more than 10.000 visitors are waited to come. The music festival will draw on the same stage great DJ names such as Westbam, Marusha, Electro Ferris (Deichkind), Yeomen and Lützenkirchen. It is the second time when the event takes place. Visitors must be at least 18 und must have their ID with them. You are not allowed to bring your own food and drinks but you can buy them from there, at good prices. Tickets can be bought online and printed at home. Summer Rave will take place this year at Flughafen Tempelhof (Airport Tempelhof).

Hanukkah Christmas Market in Berlin

The Jewish Museum in Berlin is the anual organizer of the Hanukkah Christmas Market. What is basically Hanukkah Market? The Berlin Hanukkah market sells Israelian specialties, date paste and candied fruit and also all sorts of Hanukkah lamps, mezuzots, and dreidel. However, entertainment occupies an important place in organizing Hanukkah Christmas Market in Berlin. On Sunday afternoon visitors can listen to Klezmer music and Yiddish songs. This festival lasts for eight days and it celebrates the cleaning and rededication of the temple in Jerusalem over two millennia ago.

Hanukkah Market is opened in the Museum’s Glass Courtyard, greeting its visitors with Jewish specialties and Hanukkah wares but also with shows, live concerts, and tours on the Jewish festivals. Gifts are not forgotten here – you can find all sorts of presents ideas here. This wide variety comes from Germany, the USA, and Israel. In the end, you can go and taste a very good coffee at the café. Hanukkah Market schedule is from 28th of November to 26th December 2010 daily from noon to six p.m. and it is closed on the 24th of December. The entrance is free of charge. Food enthusiasts will be very delighted with the Jewish specialties served at this market – Hanukkah latkes (potato pancakes), sufganiot (pancakes) and mulled wine from kosher wine are some instances of Israelian dishes, which shouldn’t be missed.
