Olympic and Paralympic Games 2012 Ceremonies in London, UK

The next Olympic summer games will take place next year, in 2012, in London, England. The opening ceremony of the Olympic Games 2012 will mark the beginning of the XXXth world competition. Therefore, the ceremony starts with the Olympic Games 2012 Anthem and the Parade of Nations, who enter the stadium in alphabetical order. This events is followed by the speeches delivered by the President of the IOC, Jacques Rogge. Then, the Olympic Anthem is played and the Olympic Flag is raised. The most expected moment of the ceremonies marking the beginning of the 2012 Olympic Games in London is the torch and the lighting of the Cauldron. However, the closing and victory ceremonies are also of a great importance and extraordinary show. The victory ceremonies of the Summer Olympic Games 2012 in London and Paralympic Games will be watched live by thousands of spectators. The names of the winners will be pronounced and then they will have to stand on the podium while the national anthem is played.
The closing ceremonies of the Olympic Games 2012 is another special moment for this competition. It will take place on the 12th of August 2012. All the flagbearers will carry the flag of each country and will march followed by all the athletes that have competed. On the 12th of September 2012 the Closing Paralympic Ceremony will take place as well. The Paralympic Flag is then symbolically taken down and the national flag of the next Host Nation is hoisted up. The Games are officially closed, and the Paralympic Flame is extinguished.
