Ibiza’s Hot Nightlife

It’s undoubtly the dance Mecca of Europe. Ibiza hosts some of the biggest and greatest night clubs in the world. There are two main hot spots to head for – Ibiza town on the east coast and the decidedly British orientated club capital of San Antonio on the west coast. If you are a party animal, then stay close to these two resort centres, if your there just for relaxing, choose the north of Ibiza. Look for the clubs ‘PR’ people during day and evening, because this way, you can get entrance discounts or free drinks. There are also buses that take you to the club, of course, you can also go by taxi, it’s not expensive. Depending on your outfit, you may benefit from a free entrance. Moreover, there are some clubs that pretend their clients to have beachwear or just go without the top (both for men and women). But, there are also traditional tapas bars, uncrowded beach bars with live music and restaurants where you can relax and enjoy the music.

These are the hottest night spots in Ibiza:
1. Privilege: According to Guiness Book, this is the biggest club in the world, with a 10.000+ capacity. Some of the attractions include sex shows, circus acts and an immense swimming pool. The club was formerly the legendary KU which was forced to shut down in the early 1990s amid allegations of drug trafficking and mafia links. You’ll find it halfway between Ibiza town and San Rafael.
2. El Divino: A stylish club in one of the most beautiful locations at Ibiza marina but this is more for the rich and famous yacht-owning.
3. Pacha: It is the only club that is open all year long, it’s become something of an institution – the first Pacha opened here in 1973 and there are now 70 worldwide. There are 15 bars, open air garden terraces overlooking Ibiza town, a restaurant and sushi bar.
4. Space: This is the club that invites the party animals from 6AM/ This was one of the world’s first ever after-hours club.
5. El Paradis: A spectacular pyramid-style structure overlooking San Antonio bay. It has more than 9 bars and a main dance floor which turns into a swimming pool in the early hours.
6. Amnesia: Is is situated between Ibiza town and San Rafael, it is the first open air disco on the island. Prepare yourself for one of the best laser shows of all time – and a dry ice machine which emits huge jets of cold air through vents in the dance floor!
7. Eden : It was previously known as Kaos, this is one of the island’s newest super-clubs. It can cater for 5,000 and is famous for its foam parties.

In San Antonio’s West End there are more than 150 bars and clubs along just one street! As a tip, entrance fees can rise up to 50 euro, so never buy them at the door. In exchange, you can buy them from the airport, there are discount books there and free tickets, too. If you cannot get one this way, then go along the water in Ibiza Town Port and you will be approached by people who also sell discount club tickets, so you can save up to 5-10 euro. Discount tickets are not free of restrictions – like no entrance after 1 am, not valid on certain days. Tickets are sold almost everywhere – bars, hotels, shops. They usually cost 15-150 euro, depending on club, DJ. The ticket for Pacha can cost sometimes 70 euro.

Ibiza has a vibrant air both during day and evening, so take your time, enjoy your lunch in one of the restaurants on the beach and admire the view. Lunch is served at around 2-4 PM, and the meals are quite big. In the evening, restaurants are deserted until 10PM, then they go to a bar from 11-01 AM and then in a club at 2 AM. The old town, D’Alt Villa, is worth visiting. This is a fortress perched above the main town. Moreover, don’t forget to taste “SA GRAIXONERA”, it is a desert made by milk, eggs, cottage cheese, suggar, and local ensaimada, it’s like a pudding.
