El Bulli Restaurant in Barcelona, Only a Memory Now …

El Bulli Restaurant in Barcelona, which has been closed recently, used to be for 27 years a very famous dining place all over the world. El Bulli was managed by well-known Ferran Adria, a cook famous for the luxurious gastronomy. El Bulli in Barcelona used to be open only 6 months a year and you could not just call and make a reservation. Reservations for El Bulli Restaurant were made only through draws. In exchange for 250 euro, which was a fixed menu price, guests received 40 tiny food plates. You might think this is a very profitable business, on the contrary, El Bulli restaurant recorded about 500.000 euro loss/year. The cook Ferran Adria will settle a foundation, bearing the same name with the restaurant, starting with 2014. The restaurant from Barcelona was a small place, designed for only 50 guests. However, Adria explained the students from Valencia that the restaurant won’t remain closed but it will open soon, due to a transformation process. The menu, although not very consistent, unfolds in three acts and thirty-five dishes: small snacks that you eat with your fingers, larger-sized tapas to be eaten with a fork and spoon (no knife, ever), and desserts.
