Bungalows in Bora Bora

The area has around 115 islands which are grouped in five archipelagoes: the Marquesas, the Tuamotu, the Gambier, the Tubuai and the Society Islands. The Society Islands are divided into the Windward Islands, dominated by Tahiti, and the Leeward group, with Bora Bora its main island. Bora Bora is a place with all yea long tropical climate. It is situated 17 degrees south of the equator, and the temperature reaches from 25ºC (77ºF) to 28ºC (82ºF). In April and November, the humidity and temperature are high. From May to October, the weather is dry and the nights cooled by the trade winds, that are stronger during this time of the year. It is 10 kilometers long and 4 kilometers wide. Bora Bora is one of the top attraction for holiday-makers in the world, because this outstanding island is the jewel of the South Seas. It has white sand beaches, translucent waters of blues and greens, where the 15 over-water bungalows are something specific for this area.

There are some resorts in Bora Bora that provide bungalow accommodation. These little houses are the perfect place for honeymooners or for those in search of an exotic place to stay, because they are full or romantism and have all of the amenities that the discerning traveler would desire. Even while in, travelers can still enjoy the clear water that is below them, because the tables in the bungalow are glass-topped and this way, they permit you to see the unique view of the lagoon.


The accommodation in a bungalow includes air conditioning, mini bar, ceiling fans, a couch, a large bed, a beautiful modern bathroom, personal safes, everything in full comfort and privacy. There is also a shower at water level alongside steps leading to the lagoon. The furniture is made of natural woods and materials of the islands, like rattan and bamboo, Tasmanian oak floors, ceilings of pandanus lashed to beams of Douglas fir,
cast-iron tubs. If you want to have breakfast or dinner, then go to the Matira Terrace Restaurant. For lunch or any other refreshments, go to Pofai Beach Bar. The Matira Bar’s tables are built from monkey-pod trees felled during the occasional South Pacific storm; the roof is of pandanus thatching. Afternoon tea is available from Hotel Bora Bora’s Pofai Beach Bar.

Visitors can enjoy the diverse activities that can be performed in the area. One of them is fishing, with typical catches ranging from tuna and wahoo to marlin and mahi-mahi. For safari-fans, the island mountains are the perfect destination for the expedition that includes a visit to the cannons left behind after World War ll, as well as a ride through the valley to an ancestral plantation. Bora Bora can also be seen from an helicopter or on bicycle. Parasailing is also available at about 300 meters high above the island. Sea-going charters and nightly sunset cruises are also available. Guests can also take a paddle canoe or outrigger sailing canoe into the lagoon, jet ski around the island or enjoy a combination beach picnic and cruise of the lagoon waters.
