Board in Berlin?

It is unlikely that you will every feel bored in Berlin…..but if you fancy a board in Berlin you are more than likely to find it here, at Spielwiese ….a board game library located in the Friedrichshain district of the German capital. A couple of months ago I found cheap flights to Berlin and so decided to visit a German friend who I had met at university. Staying with someone who lives in the city was a great experience. I had my own personal guide to show me the best restaurants, clubs, museums and places in the city that the tourists don’t know about. University wasn’t all about partying. When we lived in halls we used to have a quiet night in at least once or twice a week, and we would play board games with our other housemates. That is why my friend took me to Spielwiese.
Yes….Spielwiese is just like a library of board games. You can rent a game to take home or even enjoy a coffee and snack in the café while playing. There are selves packed with all your favourite games: Monopoly, Scrabble and Risk, and there are even some more unusual games. The price to play is €3 per person or €1.50 if you have purchased something to eat or drink from the Spielwiese coffee shop. Children aged between 3 and 12 should pay €1 to play or €0.50 if they have purchased a drink or snack. Children under the age of 3 are free. The only day which Spielwiese is closed is Wednesday. You should check out the official website in English for more details of opening hours.
I would recommend going here if you like playing board games or if you are on holidays in Berlin with children.
